Genesis 2:2 וַיְכַל אֱלֹהִים In the absence of a sufformative, the preformative י identifies this verb as Imperfect 3ms. The Shewa under the Imperfect preformative and the Pathach under the first root letter are diagnostic of the Piel stem. As in verse 1, the verbal root is כָּלָה ([and] God finished).
